Muhammad Rafali Iqram is one of a lucky few from Indonesia who got a taste of Okada Method, a unique training approach developed by legendary Japanese coach Takeshi Okada.
Iqram, a 12 year old defender from Tunas Sepakbola Nusantara Football Academy, took part in the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ 2024 football clinic at Gelora Bung Karno Football Field C, Jakarta, on November 2.
At the event Iqram was introduced to Okada Method and under the guidance of Isao Dobashi, head of youth coaching at J3 League team FC Imabari in Japan, he participated in a series of drills which were new to him.
This Real Madrid fan thoroughly enjoyed the whole program which was designed to focus on building a foundation that nurtures players’ abilities to think critically on the field while also mastering fundamental skills.
“I'm really happy to have this new experience and to be able to train under the guidance of the coach,” said Iqram.
“It's such a fun training! The most fun part to me is I could laugh with my friends while also training hard.” He added: “I hope there is many more like this coaching clinic, and I'd like to take part in all of them!”
