2024 Field Report

A joyful football match, a joyful night in Bangkok

A blissful atmosphere, almost a family nights out happens in a heat football match is a night to remember

On Saturday, December 14, Thailand hosted Malaysia at Rajamangala National Stadium and secured a 1-0 victory in the second group-stage match of the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ 2024. With this win, the team remains on track to defend their championship title, accumulating six points from two matches.

The match coincided with Thailand’s cool winter season, and with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 PM, the atmosphere around the stadium turned into a festive weekend destination. Visitors enjoyed engaging activities at the Mitsubishi Electric booths, including a popular AR filter game where fans tested their skills as goalkeepers. Simple yet highly addictive, the game captivated participants of all ages.

Mitsubishi Electric also provided young football academy players the unforgettable opportunity to serve as escort kids, leading Thailand and Malaysia players onto the pitch. The kids were thrilled to meet their favorite stars up close.

"I already decided at home that I wanted to walk out with Patrik Gustavsson because we play the same position," said 13-year-old Baramee ‘Bres’ Senawong of Bangkok Football Academy. "Today was so much fun! Big thanks to Mitsubishi Electric for giving us this chance."

"I chose Bank – Suphanat Mueanta because he’s so talented. I think he’ll score two goals tonight," predicted 14-year-old Paphangkorn ‘Palm’ Udomsri, also from Bangkok Football Academy. (He was slightly off the mark, but we’re sure Bank won’t hold it against him!) "Thanks to Mitsubishi Electric for letting me stand here today," Palm added with excitement.

As the Title Partner of the ASEAN Mitsubishi Electric Cup™ 2024, Mitsubishi Electric remains committed to fostering collaboration across ASEAN and ensuring the tournament achieves its greatest success.
