Launch of a TV commercial for promoting energy-saving home appliance use
To address energy-saving needs in the wake of the recent earthquake disaster, we have created and launched a new TV commercial on April 16 to promote energy-efficient home appliance use by general consumers. As wise ways of using electricity, the commercial provides pointers on how to reduce electricity consumption by air conditioners, refrigerators, and TV for the greatest energy-saving effect. It uses mascots "Uni" and "Eco" to give the commercial a friendly touch and keep it from becoming too serious, as well as to differentiate it from the commercials of other companies. In conjunction with the commercial, we have posted "wise ways of using electricity" for a total of eleven home appliances on Mitsubishi Electric's official website. We are also planning PR activities that would promote awareness of the unique energy-saving functions of Mitsubishi Electric products and would lead to their increased sales.

Completion of a new TV commercial for the REAL brand of (BHR500 Series) LCD TVs
The period up to the end of the Eco-point campaign at the end of March saw a large increase in the sales of digital terrestrial TVs, but we focused on the next peak period until the termination of analog broadcasting at the end of July and produced a new commercial that specifically promotes the replacement of digital terrestrial TVs. We emphasized the advantage of the REAL brand of TVs as an "all-in-one" HDTV that eliminates the need to repurchase the TV and Blu-ray disc or other recording device separately.
The commercial communicates the simple message that "REAL is all you need" to replace an existing TV and various peripheral devices and to tune into digital terrestrial broadcasts, and captures viewers' hearts with children's cute expressions. It will begin broadcasting on May 21, during programs sponsored by Mitsubishi Electric.
