Mitsubishi Electric Helps Fund Aid for Victims of Hiroshima Landslides

TOKYO, October 27, 2014 - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that the company and its employees have donated 11,370,304 yen through an in-house matching-gift program, the Mitsubishi Electric SOCIO-ROOTS Fund, to aid victims in connection with destructive landslides that occurred in Hiroshima, Japan on August 20.

Donations were collected at Mitsubishi Electric offices across Japan from September 1 through 30. Contributions from employees amounted to 5,685,152 yen, which the company matched to double the amount. Of the 11,370,304 yen in total, 360,000 yen was donated to Hiroshima City on September 12 and the rest was transferred to the Community Chest of Hiroshima Prefecture on October 24. In addition to this contribution, Mitsubishi Electric announced a separate corporate donation of 10 million yen on August 29.

The Mitsubishi Electric Group expresses its deepest sympathies to those affected by the disaster and its sincerest best wishes for a speedy recovery.
