Advantages

Regenerative power can be effectively used in high-distribution equipment, etc.

Rich in records, the device ensures high reliability and stability.

No generation of harmonics in the AC system

Low in price (approximately 70 ~ 80% of the inverter type)

Disadvantages

The regenerative power can not be absorbed in the case of a power failure in main circuit.

Slight generation of harmonics (needing harmonic filter depending on the system)

The initial investment cost is high.

With the regenerative power discharged as heat loss, it leaves the problem of anathermal countermeasure (countermeasure against greenhouse effect).

IF installed indoors, it needs comparatively large ventilating equipment for cooling the electrical resistor, calling for a large space.
