Disadvantages

- The regenerative power can not be absorbed in the case of a power
failure in main circuit.
- Slight generation of harmonics (needing harmonic filter depending
on the system)
- The initial investment cost is high.

- With the regenerative power discharged as heat loss, it leaves
the problem of anathermal countermeasure (countermeasure against greenhouse
effect).
- IF installed indoors, it needs comparatively large ventilating equipment
for cooling the electrical resistor, calling for a large space.
